It must be a sign that my brother Dave and I met in Montpelier to plan the trip (kind of) in a late April snowstorm. Dave was at a meeting in Royalton and I had a work errand in Bristol so I crawled over Ap Gap in the snow. We met at the Wayside on Barre-Montpelier Road. After mentioning putting a blog together I figured I better get my rear in gear and figure out how a blog works so, here it is. Not sure what it is going to look like or how this works but hopefully this will end up somewhere.
Being very detailed planners (not) we decided to leave somewhere around May 15 and somehow get to Amish country on Monday or Tuesday if something interesting cropped up along the way.
Then head south.
We both have saddlebags and Dave has a tank bag. I had done a trip a while back and had thrown a duffel bag across the passenger seat which worked pretty well so maybe do the same this time. Dave has a top bag and a rack that replaces the passenger seat.
We will take camping stuff in case camping opportunities arise, but we are not by any means ruling out soft comfy beds.
The trip will take 10 days to 2 weeks (ish). I assume by now you are dazzled by the clarity of mission and turn by turn trip planning going on here.
OK. I gotta wrap this up and see if this blog thing is gonna work.
Bye for now..
